Its been like the most pleasant of dreams: almost two weeks without seeing his orange face or hearing his whiny voice. I know very well it isn't going to last; that the nightmare will resume sowing scorched earth in its death throes of final defeat...but I'm enjoying the silence while it lasts. All too soon he will again ramp up the insanity to mind-numbing levels, so we should take his silence for what it is; his concession speech!

People aren't supposed to spend their waking hours recoiling from the latest antic from a petty clown president, or have their sleep terrorized by worries of what he will do next: it's not normal. Not normal at all!

Of course 45 is making it as hard as possible for Biden's transition team, blocking & ignoring tradition at every turn. If I were Biden or any of his staff, the white house is the last place I'd want to inhabit considering it is currently in its third Covid-19 outbreak! As if being a pandemic hotspot isn't bad enough, the white house is also infested with Rats scurrying across the floor behind the president, vermin in the kitchen and raccoons attacking CNN reporters on the white house lawn in broad daylight, more than once! The current resident said the white house was a shithole when he moved in. Nice to see he's held up the level of squalor during his time there.

Meanwhile some rather odd things are happening inside the white house since the election results were confirmed. New edicts from "POUTUS" are as follows: Anyone caught looking for a new job will be fired. Anyone speaking Biden's name will be fired. Anyone co-operating in any way with Biden's transition team will be fired. Anyone not in lockstep with official talking points & lies, will be fired. Anyone caught saying the election was fraud-free and fair will be fired.

That my friends, is some industrial strength denial, but beyond simply that, its also an indication of a severely damaged mind, and thinking process. A thinking process that not only thinks such childishness is manly and normal, but also insists that everyone else sees it that way as well. There are clinical names for such damaged minds, but then we've known this for quite some time now. I'm tempted to say that the president is out of touch with reality; except he recently asked his legal team if he could pardon himself & family members. He also asked them the same question when he was impeached. However frail it is, he does have some sense of reality, except he is in constant denial, so one kinda negates the other.

Not only didn't we stop it, [and there were a few times we could have], we now seem determined to just let the clock expire on his nightmare administration rather that force him from office before he can do the damage he has promised to unleash if he becomes unhappy with the election results. Well, I think its safe to say he's unhappy NOW. What will he do when he finally works through his stages of grief? Here's a clue, he has publicly stated over 25 times that he's not leaving office if he loses. You think he won't rally his base and "proud boys" to start the revolution? Are you forgetting the part about him being insane?

By the time Biden does move into the white house, its possible the rats & raccoons might just be the most valuable things left behind. In the 9 weeks left until Inauguration day the spoiled child in chief and his band of plunder monkeys will be stealing anything and everything that might fetch a good price later on; including state secrets that if divulged (sold) could be very damaging indeed. Not much of an imagination is needed to see how & why. This deranged narcissist is such a shameless thief, he even stole the insignia from Star Trek to use for his childish space force.

The corporate takeover has lost its lease after four years of no profits for the share holders and is currently conducting its "going out of business sale." 45's shock-opera-black Friday-hail Mary-extravaganza may include martial law. It would be nice if it doesn't come to that, but it might.

45 whines about losing his job as he refuses to DO the job. With the nation suffering over a thousand Covid deaths a day, he ignores that as he always has. Instead of actually doing his job he only wants to cry about not getting his way. The president has not attended a single Covid-19 task force meeting in five months!

Instead of doing the job all he does is file frivolous lawsuits & tweet conspiracy theories about the election he lost. He's pulled every petty childish stunt except holding his breath. Maybe we should tell 45 that 44 can hold his breath for 10 minutes. As his lawsuits are defeated & tossed out one by one & his losses piling up, he becomes more dangerous. So we wait to see whether he goes out with a whimper, or a bang.

For those who believe Biden's win will usher in some magical new day in American politics, I'm afraid the soundtrack has already been chosen: same as it ever was! The first sign that its going to be business as usual if is 46 pardons 45! Think that can't happen? Biden has already indicated he will reverse many things 45 did, then added he doesn't want to spend his whole presidency prosecuting the criminal traitor 45.

You think Biden is going to plow thru stonewalling GOP obstructionism? He was there for eight years of such obstructionism under Obama and the republicans blocked every single thing they tried to do, mostly successfully. With both Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham getting re-elected the future will be more of the same. Count on it. Right wing or left wing really makes no difference because both wings are on the same bird, a vulture, and the flight plan never changes.

This election has showed us a great many things and will no doubt be analyzed for many years to come, if only for the number of historic "firsts." I must admit to being quite surprised by the fact 45 got more votes than he did last time. How the man can hold that much support among that many people simply eludes me.

I really believed that support for the current president had to have shrunk by millions, instead, it grew by a few million. I thought average Americans were smarter than that. I thought average Americans could see thru him for exactly what he is, as so many of us do. I didn't believe this country to be as severely divided as it obviously is. I was wrong. Now I must set about the work of updating my belief structure to more closely match facts in evidence. I must toss out those optimistic beliefs and replace them with the cold hard truth. The problem is, not very many people actually do that. They just go on being mis-informed, and ignorant.

However, there is also progress, as I think I've discovered why support for Ivanka's daddy is so strong. After spending way too much time on the subject; I'm convinced that the support is so strong because he gives them permission to be their true selves. They like him because he cheats, steals, lies, and hates who they hate. He is their role model who not only gives them permission to be just like him, he tells them they are right! That there are so many of them doesn't frighten me, what they can do in great numbers does.

Of course we must also consider that this is all happening amid the worst viral pandemic in over a century; with nearly a quarter million Americans dead amid record hospitalizations as the 3rd wave of Covid-19 has totally inundated our country. Italy, England and several other populous European cities are also reeling under the resurgence of the virus. This is far from over; and its going to get much worse before it gets better. This strain of Covid-19 will eventually mutate into an even deadlier version of itself: it's a virus, it's what they do!

Perhaps the biggest damage 45 has done was to politicize the wearing of masks and observing social protocols. If we are ever going to outlive this pandemic it will require the participation of 45's legions of followers to join in, even if just this once, and help humanity survive instead of attending super-spreader hate rallies.

Eight months of quarantine is no joke. The isolation and boredom of 252 days in quarantine easily leads to depression. Humans are social & gregarious creatures by nature, in fact to stay healthy from the neck up we require regular human contact: which is why solitary confinement is used as a punishment in the penal system.

There are a few things you can do to lessen the depressing effects of quarantine and the first is to be adaptive & fluid. Normal went away and whenever we return to calling the status quo normal its likely to bear little resemblance to what we lost. Don't cling to the past, but rather adapt & modify your daily life in such a way that you are always up to date.

Just as its important to maintain physical conditioning during quarantine, the same applies to your spiritual self. Anyone having spent much time around the human potential movement knows all too well the first most popular excuse folks give for NOT following a spiritual regimen or practice: "I would but I just don't have the time." Well, what will be their excuse now that time is all we have? In fact, I doubt one could find a better time to do a deep dive into spirituality than amid a global pandemic with us being up to our sixth chakra in death. Better late than never.

Just like it isn't at all normal to have a mentally ill narcissist as president who is so unhinged we get nightmares because of him; being locked down in quarantine going on nine months isn't at all normal either. My point is we'll never outlive this pandemic with normal thinking; its going to take more than that from all of us. Average just won't cut it. Its going to take some selfless action from all of us, regardless of who you voted for.

When launching astronauts up to the ISS there is something called the critical path, which is a complete list of everything that has to happen, in order of sequence, for there to be a successful launch, its a blueprint for success. There is also a critical path for defeating Covid-19, and it isn't herd immunity. Our scientists and virologists know exactly what this critical path is. They've been trying to teach us how to survive this pandemic but some tiny-fingered, self-obsessed tin tyrant keeps derailing their efforts.

The blueprint is simple, really. Wear a mask and take some additional steps, along with everyone else, and with some time we will get through this nightmare alive. Do it not, and die...most likely. Its that simple. Perhaps so much time in quarantine has jaded my outlook somewhat, but this virus outbreak didn't have to be this bad, it was made this bad by the lies the president told for profit and the idiots who still believe him. So this is what I think: if after all we've been through with Covid-19, once Biden is running the show, if we cannot get our shit together as a country, & follow the damn critical path, we don't deserve to survive.

If Generation-X Votes

The big hope being floated by all the political pundits & analysts is that if Florida goes blue, it's all over, Republicans can't win if that happens.

I can go one better!

What if all of the Generation-X'ers and all of the Millennials turned out to vote?

What would that look like?

These groups of Americans are the most informed and educated citizens we've ever turned out. Better still they are the least racist, least violent, and most tolerant citizens of this country.

My big hope is that they all vote in this election.

If they don't, what the hell are they waiting for. This election is a gold plated invitation to change what's going on now, and to shape the future to match their collective visions.

Quarantine Journal

Quarantine Journal ~ Day 212

Eight months into a global pandemic; as the country numbly observes well over 210,000 dead and with that number increasing by around thousand deaths a day, we are stumbling towards a constitutional crisis over the looming presidential election.

The people are weary from the lockdown and pandemic protocols; everyone wants their lives back, like it was before only better. The people are also angry, about everything it seems. After generations of systemic racism in this country I find it surreal and just a little strange that it is now all coming to a head during the worst pandemic in a hundred years. So, we can add a possible race war in the streets to the list of everything else threatening our survival.

Life is on hold, 8 months and counting with no relief in sight. My mindset snapped back to Vietnam on day one of this lockdown. So many similarities: a mostly unseen enemy, danger from the environment, poison snakes, bobby traps, snipers, sappers, heat stroke, and malaria! Basically too many threats to keep track of.

The whole time you're in the combat zone you are hyper-vigilant, head-on-a-swivel...cocked & locked. By the time your tour of duty is over you're a wreck from all that vigilance. You think there will be time to relax once you're back home but after a while you gradually realize you'll never relax ever again.

This quarantine is like that. After so many months of house arrest, disinfecting, PPE, face masks, don't touch anything including your face...its getting old & tiresome, but just like in Nam, the first time you let your guard down, the first mistake you make, wham, your number comes up.

My PTSD from Vietnam now has a new invisible friend to play with; Pandemic Fatigue. After eight months of "life-on-hold" quarantine, I'm getting tired of this shit: and I say that as a devout hermit who has lost the need for proximity of others to validate my existence.

I'm now also a "Climate Refugee" - having twice had to evacuate my home in under a year due to approaching flames...displaced for over five days each time. Mandatory evacuation isn't my idea of getting out of the house. My N95 mask is doing double duty what with Covid, and all the smoke in the air from the wildfires surrounding the area I live in. Now, if they just made a mask to protect me from rampant stupidity!

If ever there was a year from Hell, 2020 is it hands down! I have survived childhood, high school, Vietnam, marriage, cancer & so far my own stupidity; but between the virus & the quarantine my resiliency is starting to fade. In fact, things are so bad that when my insomnia allows me to sleep, the enduring clusterfuck this year has become has begun seeping into my dreams. Like many Americans I have my cell phone on a stand near my bed, and also like many Americans Instead of counting sheep to fall asleep I browse my news-feed, aka, 'Doom scrolling'.

Just the other night I was startled awake only to find myself sitting up in bed & doom scrolling my news-feed. The thing is to this day I don't know if I was sleep doom scrolling, or did I fall asleep while doom scrolling? Don't wait till this happens to you, kick the doom scrolling habit, no good comes from it! I sure hope this quarantine ends soon because lately its getting to where I have more issues than National Geographic.

This brings me to the elephant in the room. Fighting the Covid-19 pandemic has been made exponentially worse because of the other pandemic; stupidity. We've been fighting the stupidity pandemic ever since the Tea Party coup which is exactly what crippled the system enough for Trump to steal, cheat and slime his way into the white house.

You see, Trump isn't a politician, he's a businessman, a corporate raider. His "administration" is a hostile takeover, not a presidency.

From Day one with the scandal over Trump stealing money from his own inauguration fund, he and his tribe of plunder monkeys have been systematically looting the government and crippling those agencies that could stop him. This kleptocracy has been done boldly in broad daylight with only a constant smokescreen of lies for explanation. For crying out loud; the man was prohibited from ever being part of any charity after he was busted for stealing from his own charity!

I stopped wondering how Trump ever got into office a long time ago; replacing that quandary with the one trying to understand why it is nobody has the balls to stand up to him.

Where are all the patriots who are supposed to put loyalty to country above loyalty to party, or a single person? Where are all the defenders of the constitution? How the fuck did "We the People" permit this travesty to continue for so long? And the best question of them all is: what are WE going to do NOW? I shouldn't have to say this at this late date but I will; doing nothing is an unacceptable answer because thats precisely how we got here.

So; Trump (finally) gets Covid-19 a month out from the presidential election; and of course Everything is upside-down. The cognitive dissonance is actually an audible white noise in my skull these days. This election between two demented creepy old white men doesn't exactly fill me with any hope for the future...hell at this point I say there is an excellent chance that Trump will enact Martial Law rather than chance losing to Biden. If he does, that will be it, the series finale of "America, the reality show" & the ratings will be better than Hitlers!

In case you fell asleep during civics class, Only the president can enact Martial law, & only the president can end it. All elections are postponed/cancelled for the duration of martial law and the president can dispatch federal troops to enforce laws & keep the peace. Martial Law essentially gives Trump the absolute powers of a dictator, something he has openly said appeals to him on several occasions.

As with the 2016 presidential election, Russia and other adverse countries are again targeting American voters and the election process itself, all with the silent tacit approval of the entire Trump administration, and republican senate.

One day after returning from the hospital Trump unabashedly announced there will be no additional stimulus checks issued until after he is re-elected. What a petty coward! Here again he shows us his total absence of morals as he literally blackmails people into voting for him, holding the electorate hostage to his demented whims. Sadly, this is what we, and the world, have come to expect from this morbidly obese egotistical psychopath.

We are now hearing that the steroids and other Covid countermeasures Trump is taking may cause delusional thinking - How would we know? Do they mean even more guano crazy than normal? Some clarity would be nice here because this cat was pretty damn delusional for a while before he ever got infected with Covid!

"Nobody needs a war like a president low in the polls"

I think a very good case could be made here for invoking the 25th amendment; removing a president from office who is unfit to discharge the duties of the office. Well, not to put too fine of a point on it or anything, but we've had sufficient grounds to invoke the 25th amendment for some time now. The same spineless quislings who protected Trump from impeachment will also protect him from the 25th amendment. They MUST defend him because their fates are super-glued to Trumps coat tails; if he goes down, they all go down. Sounds fine by me, let's do it!

Trump's toxic masculinity & malignant narcissism will be the death of us all if we don't immediately acknowledge his chronic insanity and remove him from office on those grounds; and then there is his 4 year crime spree to factor in as well as his efforts to steal another election. With 27 days until the election its probably just too late. Trump is dug in like a tick and protected on all sides.

He's confident he'll "win" the "election" because he's counting on influencing the electoral college by replacing designated electors with his own hand-picked 'electors' who will of course decide in favor of him.

Experts now say that since he contracted Covid-19 Trump has infected at least 1600 people

At the "debate" last week we watched in absolute horror as Trump signaled the proud boys and other white supremacist groups to get ready for action, and told his illegal "poll watchers" to turn out in force at polling places. This leaves us with a very serious question to answer: Will Trump allow the election to happen, then contest his loss, refusing to leave & sending his people into the streets to wreck mayhem & chaos...or will he just declare Martial Law & declare himself the winner?

Reports have surfaced from disgruntled white house insiders that if/when he is forced out of office Trump intends to leave the white house in as much disarray as possible. He has ordered "his people" to destroy as many records, computers and equipment as possible. It's called scorched earth and historically its what sore losers do. Leave nothing useful behind.

Meanwhile, vice president Pence, (leader of the white house Corona task force,) doesn't want protective plastic barriers at the vice presidential debate!? Ponder that for a moment. Then there is the matter of Trump being 420 Billion dollars in debt. Who holds that marker, and what would Trump be willing to do to retire the debt?

What concerns me the most at this point is that with Trump's numbers trailing Biden's by 16 points, and considering the horrible news week Trump has had, on top of catching Covid...in addition to whatever else he plans to unleash to stay in office: in his currently drugged & diminished state, he may very well believe his best option is to start a shooting war. And just today he was threatening Iran with total destruction.

In the wake of several white house super-spreader events not only is Trump's entire staff down with Covid-19, we learned yesterday that the pentagon's joint-chiefs-of-staff are all in quarantine now, for the first time ever!! What a juicy temptation this must be for Putin, Un, or others who seek our downfall...all thanks to president Don Corona!

The white house continues its refusal to disclose when Trumps last negative Covid test was; which is absolutely important for contact tracing as well as who he may have infected. They won't say, which is just really bad news. As if to show us there is no point too low for him to stoop, Trump actually said he caught Covid from his meeting with military Gold Star Families. This egotistical narcissist has more loose screws than a hardware store in an earthquake.

If only we had a few more people like the mayor of Portland and the Seattle chief of police who aren't afraid to stand up to Trump. When did we become a nation of sheep too afraid to stand up to bullies? Anymore it seems the women have all the balls in this country, no wonder McConnell and the republican guard are afraid of Kamala and AOC.

200,000 and Counting...

Since the day Trump took office he has been systematically looting government money everywhere he can think of. One of his first actions was to gut the CDC pandemic response program, and pocket all the cash he skimmed from their budget. When questioned, his standard refrain is Lie, Deny, Ignore, Repeat. The list of Trumps crimes is truly staggering, and the looting continues unabated because everybody is afraid of him.

There is nothing Trump won't try to ensure he stays in office and out of federal prison; including knee-capping the postal service to invalidate mail-in ballots...or letting the Covid pandemic sweep across America virtually unopposed. From the very beginning Trump spoke of just letting Covid "run it's course" in order to achieve "herd immunity." The trouble with that approach is it requires over 2.4 million Americans to die from Covid before everyone becomes immunized.

The sad news of Ruth Bader Ginsburg's passing was barely two hours old when the capitol erupted into full-on battle mode over whether Trump should fill the vacant seat on the supreme court. Yes, he will do his best to seat another ultra-conservative judge on the high court because that means his "legacy" will stain & cripple the court for a generation. However this big prick waving dick fight also serves Trump in the short run, as it provides the news cycle pariahs something to take the country's attention away from covid and Trumps utter failure to contain it. Bickering over the issue is not only counter-productive this close to the election; it disrespects the memory of the Notorious RGB.

Today 200,900 Americans lay dead needlessly; instead of acknowledging them in any way, Trump went golfing.

We now know, from Bob Woodwards new book about Trump: "Rage" that Trump knew exactly how deadly covid is, & that its airborne, back in April - but continued lying to us as he constantly played it down publicly...to keep investors from panicking. He kept telling his lies at rally after rally where supporters packed in like sardines with nary a mask in sight. Herman Cain died after attending the recent Tulsa rally, taking one for the team.

Last week Trump was once again touting herd immunity as the way to go, "Just let the virus run amok until everyone who is gonna get it gets it." As usual, during his rant he kept saying "herd mentality" interchangeably with herd immunity and there is more than just a Freudian slip here because herd mentality is what killed democracy and if Trump gets his way it will kill a few million of us as well. 200,000 and counting.

In what can only be a conspiracy between science and karma: Trump has now been hospitalized for Covid. (Now I understand why he's been hanging onto podiums like a drunk groping a streetlight.) Hey there, president Don Corona, how's that "herd mentality" thing working out for you now?

The white house is mostly silent and thank God so is Trump.

Let us use this deafening silence to regain our sanity, and a sense of our rightful place in the cosmos. Lets use this gift from the universe to regain our equilibrium long enough to make the election next month a rallying point history will never forget.

Whether its fake news, another cheap trick from the Trumpster, or the real deal; one thing is certain: the white house is now a Covid-19 cluster & mobile super spreader event.

They won't say when his last negative covid test was; or even answer the most basic questions about Trump's ongoing health. He says he "gets it," then proceeds to put secret service agents, doctors, aides and the entire white house staff (who live there) at risk by removing his mask the minute he returned from Walter Reed hospital. Put everyone in jeopardy for a cheesy Mussolini photo op. Sound familiar? Business as usual.
