Burning Down the House

 

Its been like the most pleasant of dreams: almost two weeks without seeing his orange face or hearing his whiny voice.  I know very well it isn't going to last; that the nightmare will resume sowing scorched earth in its death throes of final defeat...but I'm enjoying the silence while it lasts.  All too soon he will again ramp up the insanity to mind-numbing levels, so we should take his silence for what it is; his concession speech!

 People aren't supposed to spend their waking hours recoiling from the latest antic from a petty clown president, or have their sleep terrorized by worries of what he will do next: it's not normal.  Not normal at all!

 Of course 45 is making it as hard as possible for Biden's transition team, blocking & ignoring tradition at every turn.  If I were Biden or any of his staff, the white house is the last place I'd want to inhabit considering it is currently in its third Covid-19 outbreak!  As if being a pandemic hotspot isn't bad enough, the white house is also infested with Rats scurrying across the floor behind the president, vermin in the kitchen and raccoons attacking CNN reporters on the white house lawn in broad daylight, more than once!  The current resident said the white house was a shithole when he moved in.  Nice to see he's held up the level of squalor during his time there.

Meanwhile some rather odd things are happening inside the white house since the election results were confirmed.  New edicts from "POUTUS" are as follows: Anyone caught looking for a new job will be fired.  Anyone speaking Biden's name will be fired.  Anyone co-operating in any way with Biden's transition team will be fired.  Anyone not in lockstep with official talking points & lies, will be fired.  Anyone caught saying the election was fraud-free and fair will be fired.

 That my friends, is some industrial strength denial, but beyond simply that, its also an indication of a severely damaged mind, and thinking process.  A thinking process that not only thinks such childishness is manly and normal, but also insists that everyone else sees it that way as well.  There are clinical names for such damaged minds, but then we've known this for quite some time now.  I'm tempted to say that the president is out of touch with reality; except he recently asked his legal team if he could pardon himself & family members.  He also asked them the same question when he was impeached.  However frail it is, he does have some sense of reality, except he is in constant denial, so one kinda negates the other.

 Not only didn't we stop it, [and there were a few times we could have], we now seem determined to just let the clock expire on his nightmare administration rather that force him from office before he can do the damage he has promised to unleash if he becomes unhappy with the election results.  Well, I think its safe to say he's unhappy NOW.  What will he do when he finally works through his stages of grief?  Here's a clue, he has publicly stated over 25 times that he's not leaving office if he loses.  You think he won't rally his base and "proud boys" to start the revolution?  Are you forgetting the part about him being insane?

By the time Biden does move into the white house, its possible the rats & raccoons might just be the most valuable things left behind.  In the 9 weeks left until Inauguration day the spoiled child in chief and his band of plunder monkeys will be stealing anything and everything that might fetch a good price later on; including state secrets that if divulged (sold) could be very damaging indeed.  Not much of an imagination is needed to see how & why.  This deranged narcissist is such a shameless thief, he even stole the insignia from Star Trek to use for his childish space force.

 The corporate takeover has lost its lease after four years of no profits for the share holders and is currently conducting its "going out of business sale."  45's shock-opera-black Friday-hail Mary-extravaganza may include martial law.  It would be nice if it doesn't come to that, but it might.   

 45 whines about losing his job as he refuses to DO the job.  With the nation suffering over a thousand Covid deaths a day, he ignores that as he always has.  Instead of actually doing his job he only wants to cry about not getting his way. The president has not attended a single Covid-19 task force meeting in five months! 

 Instead of doing the job all he does is file frivolous lawsuits  & tweet conspiracy theories about the election he lost. He's pulled every petty childish stunt except holding his breath.  Maybe we should tell 45 that 44 can hold his breath for 10 minutes.  As his lawsuits are defeated & tossed out one by one & his losses piling up, he becomes more dangerous.  So we wait to see whether he goes out with a whimper, or a bang.

For those who believe Biden's win will usher in some magical new day in American politics, I'm afraid the soundtrack has already been chosen: same as it ever was!  The first sign that its going to be business as usual if is 46 pardons 45!  Think that can't happen?  Biden has already indicated he will reverse many things 45 did, then added he doesn't want to spend his whole presidency prosecuting the criminal traitor 45. 

 You think Biden is going to plow thru stonewalling GOP obstructionism?  He was there for eight years of such obstructionism under Obama and the republicans blocked every single thing they tried to do, mostly successfully. With both Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham getting re-elected the future will be more of the same.  Count on it.  Right wing or left wing really makes no difference because both wings are on the same bird, a vulture, and the flight plan never changes.

 This election has showed us a great many things and will no doubt be analyzed for many years to come, if only for the number of historic "firsts."  I must admit to being quite surprised by the fact 45 got more votes than he did last time.  How the man can hold that much support among that many people simply eludes me. 

 I really believed that support for the current president had to have shrunk by millions, instead, it grew by a few million.  I thought average Americans were smarter than that.  I thought average Americans could see thru him for exactly what he is, as so many of us do.  I didn't believe this country to be as severely divided as it obviously is.  I was wrong.  Now I must set about the work of updating my belief structure to more closely match facts in evidence.  I must toss out those optimistic beliefs and replace them with the cold hard truth.  The problem is, not very many people actually do that.  They just go on being mis-informed, and ignorant.

 However, there is also progress, as I think I've discovered why support for Ivanka's daddy is so strong.  After spending way too much time on the subject; I'm convinced that the support is so strong because he gives them permission to be their true selves.  They like him because he cheats, steals, lies, and hates who they hate.  He is their role model who not only gives them permission to be just like him, he tells them they are right!  That there are so many of them doesn't frighten me, what they can do in great numbers does.

 Of course we must also consider that this is all happening amid the worst viral pandemic in over a century; with nearly a quarter million Americans dead amid record hospitalizations as the 3rd wave of Covid-19 has totally inundated our country.  Italy, England and several other populous European cities are also reeling under the resurgence of the virus.  This is far from over; and its going to get much worse before it gets better.  This strain of Covid-19 will eventually mutate into an even deadlier version of itself: it's a virus, it's what they do!

Perhaps the biggest damage 45 has done was to politicize the wearing of masks and observing social protocols.  If we are ever going to outlive this pandemic it will require the participation of 45's legions of followers to join in, even if just this once, and help humanity survive instead of attending super-spreader hate rallies.

 Eight months of quarantine is no joke. The isolation and boredom of 252 days in quarantine easily leads to depression.  Humans are social & gregarious creatures by nature, in fact to stay healthy from the neck up we require regular human contact: which is why solitary confinement is used as a punishment in the penal system. 

There are a few things you can do to lessen the depressing effects of quarantine and the first is to be adaptive & fluid.  Normal went away and whenever we return to calling the status quo normal its likely to bear little resemblance to what we lost.  Don't cling to the past, but rather adapt & modify your daily life in such a way that you are always up to date. 

Just as its important to maintain physical conditioning during quarantine, the same applies to your spiritual self.  Anyone having spent much time around the human potential movement knows all too well the first most popular excuse folks give for NOT following a spiritual regimen or practice: "I would but I just don't have the time."  Well, what will be their excuse now that time is all we have?  In fact, I doubt one could find a better time to do a deep dive into spirituality than amid a global pandemic with us being up to our sixth chakra in death.  Better late than never.

 Just like it isn't at all normal to have a mentally ill narcissist as president who is so unhinged we get nightmares because of him; being locked down in quarantine going on nine months isn't at all normal either.  My point is we'll never outlive this pandemic with normal thinking; its going to take more than that from all of us.  Average just won't cut it.  Its going to take some selfless action from all of us, regardless of who you voted for. 

 When launching astronauts up to the ISS there is something called the critical path, which is a complete list of everything that has to happen, in order of sequence, for there to be a successful launch, its a blueprint for success.  There is also a critical path for defeating Covid-19, and it isn't herd immunity.  Our scientists and virologists know exactly what this critical path is.  They've been trying to teach us how to survive this pandemic but some tiny-fingered, self-obsessed tin tyrant keeps derailing their efforts.

 The blueprint is simple, really.  Wear a mask and take some additional steps, along with everyone else, and with some time we will get through this nightmare alive.  Do it not, and die...most likely.  Its that simple.  Perhaps so much time in quarantine has jaded my outlook somewhat, but this virus outbreak didn't have to be this bad, it was made this bad by the lies the president told for profit and the idiots who still believe him.  So this is what I think: if after all we've been through with Covid-19, once Biden is running the show, if we cannot get our shit together as a country, & follow the damn critical path, we don't deserve to survive.
