2017 Crop Circle Gallery

The first thing that stands out about this season's crop circles is that they seem fewer and farther between than in past years.  As if somehow compensating for lower numbers; there seem to be a lot more complex & interesting designs laid down earlier in the season.  Again this season the availability of affordable camera drones provides us with some impressive aerial videos; while production values increase making them more professional looking.

As with my previous crop circle galleries; I've excluded some of the early season simple, basic circles etc. as well as those of dubious origin.

There will always be a few farmers each season who immediately destroy crop formations on their land; because it prevents further loss of crop.  Increasingly though others are open to working with researchers and the viewing/visiting public.  Often fields are made accessible for a modest fee, and some farmers allow viewing and photos before they destroy the formation.

Well, this is certainly being one of the strangest and quietest crop circle seasons in recent memory.  The largest oddity is the low number of crop circles.  Traditionally the months of June, July, and August have had the largest number of formations laid down, with sometimes 20 or more circles in each of those months.  In bygone years the season would sometimes even extend into early September.

So what is going on this year? Only 30 formations made from May until mid-August.
With the Solar eclipse coming on August 21st, perhaps something special is in the works to commemorate  the event?  Still, that would not necessarily explain the single digit monthly formations.  This year June is the hot month (so far) with a whopping ten formations.  Could it have something to do with disrupted harvesting conditions due to climate change?  Perhaps, but I still don't see a correlation to these low numbers of crop circles.

We have already passed the date of last year's final formation;
so does that mean this season is over?
We shall see.

August 17 - Sussex
This formation was laid down  next door to the Southend Airfield, and
definitely looks like it could relate to the looming eclipse on 8-21.

Some see a guitar, or banjo, while others see an eclipse glyph with a tower of glyphs coming from it, perhaps a message from the makers.  Perhaps the message is simple, or is it too complex to decipher?  Historically the last formation of the season is a "jawdropper" being the best or most awesome of the season...so perhaps the question should be, does this qualify; or is there more coming?

~Crop Circle Researchers~

These tireless Researchers/Investigators are doing a massive job
which deserves our support as much as our attention.  Just imagine if they
could no longer afford the camera drones and other required equipment
to bring us these amazing images & videos.  The days of cameras on poles are
gone forever, and the new equipment sure isn't cheap.  Please support these people.

  1. I havent yet investigated crop circles. I keep getting distracted by red herrings. What the hell are they?

    1. They are mysterious formations pressed into living crops (mostly in England).
There are various theories as to who or what makes them, ranging from drunken farmers with boards & ropes to aliens, and even mother Earth herself.
However they are created, they're widely regarded as messages.
      Happy googling !

  2. I teach math and some of the math in many of the formations over the years has been mind-blowing. I, too, thought that perhaps with all of the eyes looking towards the skies on the 21st, the Sky People might make another appearance (just as the Hale-Bopp comet excitement turned many eyes to the skies back in '97, especially in Phoenix, AZ). This year is the 70th anniversary of Roswell; the 65th anniversary of the flight over in DC; and the 20th anniversary of the Phoenix Lights. Unfortunately, it looks like the Sky People chose to remain in the shadow, nevertheless, many of my friends and colleagues, including myself, had headaches the following day (and we were all wearing protective glasses). I certainly think the eclipse was significant; it was one of the coolest celestial events that I've ever seen, but I can't help but wonder if there is more to it than what we realize.

Indeed, many are feeling the eclipse was/is significant; including some who felt it was quite negative. I do think the sky folks included the eclipse in the last formation, but it also included other references as well, as always, open to interpretation.

As to a deeper meaning, well I did notice that the shadow fell across the states who put Trump into office, for what that is worth.

I also loved the press photos of Trump watching the eclipse directly, without the glasses. Maybe when his retinas glass over he will become more a believer in science!

  3. This series of posts you do are among my favorites. Crop circles to me are sacred, magical expressions (gifts) from space. I use a crop circle favicon on my blog. I always felt alien. Their meanings perhaps go beyond what we can fathom. Many of them seem to represent astronomical events, such as the 8/7/17 eclipse. The headliner photo seems that to me, with messages written in an alien language. I wouldn't know what the messages mean, but can imagine them imploring humanity to get it's act together!

    1. I think we do a dis-service when we try to 'choose' what each one means, for 2 reasons.
first we're a pretty dense bunch, so assume they're trying to reach children.
Second; one size don't fit all. These things are cool enough to send a different, private ingram to every viewer. Maybe all we gotta do is stare at the image and then see what out subconscious tosses up.
To get the full effect you absolutely MUST visit as many as you can.
I got to spend several hours at the Rockville California crop circle a few years back...it changed the way I have come to understand the images.
Just seeing the picture isn't enough to understand -ya gotta go there and see for yourself!!
Just like with everything else in life.

    2. You are so lucky to have gotten to see one in person! They are kind of rare in the states, yes? Mostly show up in England. I hear electronics go haywire in the crop circles. Electromagnetic anomalies. You must have been tripping! Did you experience anything wild? What does it feel like to be in one??

    3. Yes, they are quite rare here in the states, and
yes they absolutely drain batteries in nearly all devices...
legal pad & pen continued to work.
After putting away the electronic gear I returned to the formation,
a long, pictograph style crop message. The energy was concentrated mostly in the larger design areas & not so much on the connecting lines.
Being in that formation for several hours was like getting MY battery charged! While I was there I felt no drain of energy at all; and chronic health issues seemed to take several days off before they resurfaced again, like normal.
I think the circles are 3D printing 5th Dimensional math, and we will continue to not understand until we can function at that level.

    4. Fascinating! That crop circle must have infinitely special meaning for you. The sheer delicacy of how the grains are bent at their 'joints', not destroying the plants but just bending them over in intricate designs. Crop circles learned me how to weed around the garden. When I had abdominal surgery a few years ago, I learned to be a crop circle creator with those tall weeds, and tamp them down rather that try to pull them, and my stiches, out. I called it making my crop circles.

    5. It is absolutely awesome that the affected crops don't die and actually continue to grow! and a great way to tell real from fake.
It's a shame that the very interest in seeing the crops is what inspires some farmers to just harvest the field immediately rather than loose it all to human foot traffic.

It's all the lookie-loos that destroy the crop, not the crop circles.
I've always supported asking for donations or a flat fee to see the yard art, which might also help teach respect for what they're coming so far to see.

  4. Other than early Oak Ridge researchers who identified residual radiation after the crop circle was laid down, we are no wiser. http://execonn.com/cro A deuteron accelerated to high speeds can penetrate an atomic nucleus and "activate" it, i.e. convert it into a different isotope or even a different element. Like a bullet fired from a gun, it can radically alter the objects it strikes pcircles/isotopes.html
They note the energies would have to be large. Perhaps the Earth's core of 4 sided iron is 'firing' electrons to the surface.

    Energetic deuterons.
